This looks fantastically dangerous… “Make an emergency light source from a pencil”
Remember this...
It was like the beginning of the internets, well for me anyway. Suck.com was the shiznitz and I read it every day. I would even print it (onto dead trees and everything) so I could carry it around and share it with whoever I could show it to.
It was so witty and I was cool because I read it.
That was then.
Now, they still have the same article they put up over six years ago. All the writers...

Thank God for Radio Paradise, a simple pleasure on an otherwise terrible day. Hotter than hell in Dallas and the sun is shining through the window of the office I’m in and directly onto my forehead, giving my brain sunstroke.

Liquid or Gel?
So, last Wednesday I was walking through DFW airport at 5:30 in the morning when I saw something weird. Just past the army of workers clearing away the folding cots that littered the terminal from the previous nights “guests” and I saw a woman sitting by herself in the middle of a vast section of those incredibly uncomfortable airport chair/arm/chair/arm/chair dealies (they should be:...

We're Back, Baby!
After a month of suffering (yes, suffering) with an “HD DVR” from Brighthouse, we’ve jumped back on the Tivo bandwagon. We thought we could live with the “yeah, but it’s not a Tivo” but we couldn’t.
I’ve had one of DirecTV’s Tivos for more than five years, and I guess we were just too used to using it and didn’t really want to switch,...

It's not supposed to be that nice
I’ve been in Chicago working this whole week and the weather has been extraordinarily nice… but it’s not supposed to be.
I pay pretty close attention to the weather forecasts when I’m traveling, because I like to try to pack the right clothes. If it’s going to be raining, I’ll bring a rain jacket. If it’s going to be cold, I pack heavy things. You get the...

John Chestnut Park Photo Safari
When my parents were in town a few weeks ago, we decided to bust out the cameras and go on a little photo safari at a local county park. All of the results are available on my Flickr page, but here are a few of the good ones…

Hotel Booty
The government’s ongoing War on Moisture does have a few benefits. One of them is that hotels seem to be catching on to the fact that store bought toiletries rarely seem to be packaged in the same permutations that can be brought through airport security. I stayed that the Hotel Intercontinental in Midtown Manhattan last week and I found more than the usual shampoo / conditioner / lotion...
Airport Blues
Current Statistics:
Population of LaGuardia’s Airport’s Admiral’s Club: more people than chairs
People talking on cell phones in the “Cellphone Free Room”: 68% (I checked)
Mac’s vs. PC’s: 4 to 1 (at least right now)
Chance of my flight leaving on time: 0%

Denarella Designs
Dena just posted her first items for purchase on her website Denarella Designs. They aren’t the fancy, handcrafted goods she’ll be putting up there shortly, but it’s a start.
I have high hopes for her endeavors… mostly because I want her to be wildly successful to support her deadbeat [aspiring] husband.

Reservations please?
Our washing machine finally gave up the ghost yesterday and we figured we couldn’t go too long being stinky. So, Little Miss Consumer Reports did all the research and found the mostest bestest washing machine to keep our clothes clean and fluffy. Finding someone that would sell it to us was a different matter altogether.

Enough already
Look, I’m not an American Idol fan or anything, but since I got married I’m now contractually obligated to at least pay attention to it. I often wish that the American [Idol] public had as much interest in local and national political elections, but I don’t think that’ll ever be possible… unless they allow voting by text message.
What makes me angry is the new...
